Description: The Youth Support Worker will assist frontline staff in many areas including: assisting with Community Life programs and events, maintaining the community space, as well as planning or assisting with summer activities and events including summer camps. Inner Hope summer students enjoy the mentorship of a Christ-centered staff team, and some fun perks such as going on a camping trip as part of the job. Hours: 35 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends
Pay: $16/hr
Contract length: 14 weeks (tentatively May 30th – Sept 2nd)

Position Requirements:
- Supportive of Inner Hope’s Statement of Faith
- Passionate about IHYM’s Vision, Mission and Values
- Minimum two years of experience working or volunteering with youth including some experience with youth at risk
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Possess the character, reliability, maturity and skill level to relate positively with youth and families at risk
- Knowledge and understanding of Canada’s Indigenous community an asset
- Adherence to all Inner Hope policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics
- Acceptable current criminal record check
- A valid class 5 driver’s license (access to own vehicle would be an asset) and acceptable ICBC Driver’s Abstract
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist staff with planning summer events (e.g. beach day, grad party, camping trip) and attend select events to support and connect with youth
- Summer camps: coordinate paperwork, preparation and transportation, and attend 2-4 weeks of camp for children and youth as a chaperone (work hours and time off will be flexed accordingly)
- Assist with upkeep of Inner Hope’s community space including safety drills and yardwork
- Administration and team meetings
- Other duties assigned by supervisor to support the frontline team
