BOARD TREASURER
Inner Hope Youth Ministries is a Christian non-profit rooted in our understanding that hope and healing is experienced in relationship. We are committed to journeying alongside our community in East Vancouver nurturing hope, belonging and growth and desire to see youth and their families living healthy lives and empowered in a good way. Our faith motivates our participation in reconciliation, and we value doing the work to build trust and healing in relationships within families, between non-Indigenous and Indigenous people, and between the East Vancouver community and local churches. We are committed to being a loving community that values integrity, reconciliation and long-term relationship. For this reason, it is essential that our leadership team steward our team, resources and programs with a trauma-informed approach.
The Board of Directors (Board) works with Inner Hope’s Executive Director (E.D.) to sustain and advance the organization’s vision and mission. The Board ensures legal and ethical conduct and facilitates the success of existing programs and new initiatives. The Board also provides strategic direction and oversight to Inner Hope: financial overseeing, evaluating processes and performance, and helping in the management of any business, government, or regulatory issues confronting the organization. The Board oversees Inner Hope’s E.D., represents the ministry to the community, and holds the ultimate legal responsibility. If you have a background in finance, business, banking or accounting, are motivated by the work of reconciliation and are passionate about empowering a diverse community, we would like to meet you.
Location: Vancouver, B.C. Board members can be from outside the city.
Time Commitment: Two maximum 3-year terms. Each year there are 4-6 evening meetings, 2-3 hours long between September – June. Often meetings are online. There are a few additional in person events per year as well as a few hours per month of individual work in your area of service.
