Post Secondary Support focuses on supporting young people after high school in their transition into college, university or a job, and providing support for youth who desire to strive in school but often need a helping hand (or sometimes just encouragement) on their assignments.

Post Secondary Volunteer Roles

YOUNG ADULT MENTOR ROLE

You’ll thrive in this role if: You value relationship-building!

The role: Attend Wednesday night gathering every two weeks. Your mission is to build relationships with the young adults. You do this by helping pick them up and drop them off, helping to serve dinner and enjoying a meaningful time of community.

Why it’s great: Fun and energizing. No special skills required, you just show up and connect with young adults.

Frequency: Every second Wednesday from 6-10pm.

YOUNG ADULT Night Cook

You’ll thrive in this role if: Food is your love language, and you enjoy meal planning, shopping, and cooking.

The role: Prepare and deliver a meal for 6-8 people. Meals can be cooked onsite, or offsite and delivered to Inner Hope (access to a private vehicle is ideal). Meals can be prepared, then frozen in advance. Grocery costs reimbursed, unless you wish to donate them.

Why it’s great: It’s so flexible! Cook where, when, and how often you like.

Frequency: Once a month, or more often if interested.

​Social Coordinator

You’ll thrive in this role if: You enjoy planning fun activities and getting people involved.

The role:
Collaborate with Post-Secondary Coordinator and/or a young adult helper keen to help, to support the planning of our monthly social. The scope can be tailored to your skill set and available time. Ways to contribute could include: coming up with event ideas, research or online bookings, errands/shopping, giving rides, and rallying participation from all the young adults.

Why it’s great: Creative and fun, with lots of support from the Post-Secondary Coordinator.

Frequency: One event per month (estimated 2-3 hours of planning and 4 hours on event day).
