POST-SECONDARY COORDINATOR (MATERNITY LEAVE)
We are seeking an individual who is flexible, ministry-minded and passionate about journeying with youth and young adults to join our frontline team in coordinating our Post-Secondary Program. Young adults are supported through the transition from teen years into adulthood and are empowered through practical and emotional support to pursue education, job training, meaningful employment and greater life stability. Our team is committed to partnering with each youth and young adult in achieving their individualized education, employment and/or life skill plan. The Post Secondary Coordinator maintains relationships with 12-15 program participants as a mentor, confidant, and role model.
The successful applicant must be self-motivated, both relational and administrative, with strong leadership skills and a passion for seeing vulnerable young people pursue their goals and make impact their community.

Hours: 40 hours per week; some evenings and weekends required.

Job Detailed Description
Oversee participant recruitment and intake:
- Attend community events to build relationships with prospective participants and their families
- Partner with Boundless Mentors and Boundless Program Coordinator to transition program participants from Boundless into the Post-Secondary Program
- Follow up on referrals from current participants and Inner Hope contacts
- Facilitate program intake (matching process with application form, participation agreement, etc.)
- Manage relationships with 12-15 program participants as a mentor, confidant, and role model
- Complete monthly check-ins with program participants
- Facilitate each participant’s development of an Education, Employment and/or Life Skills Plan (every 6 months)
- Support participants in achieving goals, in partnership with community organizations, tutors, coaches, family members, and/or other Inner Hope personnel
- Hold participants accountable to program expectations
- Coordinate crisis intervention when necessary, with support from other frontline team members
- Support family members of program participants and other core participants who fall under the “Support” program area as time allows (e.g. moving, meals, rides, crisis intervention)
- Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to facilitate recruitment of program volunteers when needed (tutors, employment coaches, event support, etc.)
- Attend semi-annual Volunteer Workshop with all program volunteers
- Meet individually with the program’s core volunteers at minimum once a year to hear their feedback and provide support
- Facilitate drop-in Young Adult Nights with assistance from volunteers (dinner, youth pickup/drop-off as needed, activities reflect the current needs of the group: ie. community building or goal focus)
- Plan, promote, and facilitate a minimum quarterly social gathering and incorporate cultural engagement (ie. winter tubing or skating, pumpkin patch, summer pow-wows etc.) Additional events can be planned as time and budget allows.
- Collaborate with Inner Hope discipleship staff to bring young adults on annual weekend retreat
- Host larger events throughout the year with volunteer support (annual camping trip, Christmas)
- Maintain working knowledge of local resources available to vulnerable youth (e.g. counselling, housing services, subsidy, treatment centres, etc.) including those related to Indigenous participants and those who have had involvement or been in MCFD/VACFSS care (ie. band funding, tuition waivers, AYA, FNHA, Jordan’s principle etc.)
- Build external relationships to increase referrals to Inner Hope
- Connect participants with community resources and advocate for their needs
- Champion the wraparound services of Inner Hope in all external relationships
- Set program targets, track program outcomes, report monthly and annually to Director of Programs
- Maintain participant records (intake forms, medical information, goals, applications etc.)
- Complete reports on Post-Secondary Program for funders
- Manage program budget
- Intake forms, resources for participants, etc.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with supervisor
- Collaborate with frontline team on cross-program events and/or participant discipleship opportunities and support the staff team in hosting community life events
- Participate in employer-funded professional development activities on and off site
- Be an ambassador for IHYM:
- Seek to expand its donor/volunteer network
- Assist where needed with major fundraising initiatives
- Lead a team in the annual Ride for Refuge, recruiting Post-Secondary participants to ride and fundraise
