KAIROS BLANKET EXERCISE
The Blanket Exercise utilizes Indigenous approaches and aims to foster awareness of the intertwined history of Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Canada.
It takes participants through various phases, including pre-contact, treaty negotiations, colonization, and resistance. In this interactive activity, participants step on to blankets symbolizing the land and assume the roles of First Nations, Inuit, and later Métis peoples.
By immersing themselves emotionally and intellectually, the Blanket Exercise serves as an impactful educational tool that enhances understanding and empathy. This is a wonderful tool when starting the journey to "rightnessness" of relationship.
Hosted by John and Jenn Johnstone on the 28th of October from 9:30am to 1:00pm
