Mentor
Boundless is a life skills program run by Inner Hope which exists for youth who are serious about moving forward and making positive changes in their lives. Each participant is matched with a “one-to-one” mentor who meets with them weekly to help youth gain the skills they need to thrive in life.
Would you be willing to stand in the gap and make the difference in the life of one youth in Vancouver?
Purpose: To make a difference in the life of a young person from a background of addiction, abuse or instability by being a healthy role model who is a consistent figure of trust in their life and cares about their well being as well as future success.
Key Responsibilities: To be available to connect each week with one youth, getting to know them, working on specific goals set with our life skills coordinator, and supporting them as they move into future plans. Though not mandatory, mentors are encouraged to attend a once-a-month Saturday workshop with the youth where one life skill is presented and we enjoy a meal together.
Location: Most of our youth live in the Vancouver area.
Time Commitment: 2 hours each week for a 6-month term.
Qualifications: A growing relationship with Jesus, full adherence to the statement of faith of Inner Hope, agreement with a statement of lifestyle expectations, and a willingness to be challenged and changed for the better by getting to know and support a youth at-risk.
Support: Mentors will be participate in a one-day volunteer workshop at the beginning of a 6-month term, as well as having access to our Volunteer Coordinator for any personal support or questions.
